West Bengal Judicial Service Civil Judge Exam – Preliminary Syllabus


The Preliminary Examination will consist of 200 Multiple Choice objective Questions, each carrying one mark. The time for the overall preliminary exam will be 180 minutes.

The Standard of the paper will be of the level of graduation in Law of a recognized University of West Bengal.

Syllabus for the West Bengal Civil Judge/ Magistrate Exam – Written Examination (Main) :
The Final examination will consist of eight compulsory papers and threepapers on optional subjects to be chosen by the candidates from the list of Optional Subjects. Eachcompulsory and Optional paper will carry 100 marks and will be of three hours duration.

2. Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali composition, essay and translation from English into
